Disco is best when done together, and that's exactly the philosophy of Ekkah's collaboration on new single 'What's Up' with Californian funk legend DâM-FunK. A slow groove with twinkles of synth between the programmed drum machines, it is entirely 70's throw back although UK duo Ekkah manage to put their own modern mark on DâM-FunK's production. Although not even born in the era, the pair channel catchy in the choppy verses and the saxophone solo is entirely the work of the band's own Rebekah Pennington. A big deal for Ekkah and no doubt fun for DâM-FunK, 'What's Up' has got our feet tapping. - SJ
